Redesign Thayi Card

The Thayi card (Mother and Child information booklet) in the public health services has high potential but that does not mean it is able to perform efficiently/effectively across its multiple roles as an IEC material. For this challenge propose a revamped design ideal/solution for the Thayi card to be able to create awareness and disseminate information by enabling fair disbursal of public health services.

Probing questions:

How might people from low literacy backgrounds use the Thayi card to build-up health seeking behaviour with focus on promotive and preventive health?

How might we increase engagement of the various stakeholders with the Thayi card?

How could we necessarily move beyond its use as a ‘ticket’ for free access of care schemes and highlight its significance as a IEC tool for communication ?

How might the new design ease the movement of the Thayi card across the multiple data entry points and disparate elements of care infrastructure?

How might we enhance the current role of the Thayi card to potentially transform it into a artefact that can serve as an ordering device and support the coordination and interaction across multiple social worlds in the community health care?
