Conversation Starters for Enhancing Awareness of Bodily Experiences Across Pregnancy Journey

A woman’s experience during pregnancy has profound long-term consequences on her and her social network. The socio-cultural factors discourage women to inquire about their own bodies and the changes it experiences during pregnancy, thus impacting women physically and emotionally. What design solutions might normalise conversations regarding these unspoken but crucial aspects of pregnancy journey.

Probing questions:

How might we encourage pregnant women to self diagnose and self triage in their everyday routine?

How might we foster inquiry as a practice during pregnancy to make conscious decisions?

How might we create a sense of curiosity among expectant mother to gain knowledge about expectations and alerts during the journey and allow them to differentiate these experiences from general experiences?

How can we provide a secure environment for women where they feel free to share their bodily experiences?
